The Environmental Impact of the footwear workshop
Restyle-Revive- Rewear You’ve likely heard that extending the life of a garment by just nine extra months can reduce its carbon, water, and waste footprint by 20–30% each.
This upcycling workshop allows you and the community to have fun while learning about the circular economy hands-on.
Textile waste is a HUGE issue, including footwear. This practical workshop is designed to help you bring new life to your pre-loved FABRIC sneakers!
Small adjustments—like adding some fabric paint—can transform pre-loved sneakers! Restyling makes old pieces feel new, allowing you to express yourself in exciting and creative ways as you learn about footwear production, which involves several highly polluting processes. For example, leather extraction requires large quantities of water and chemicals.
Moreover, the waste generated when an old shoe is discarded worsens the problem, as many of these products are non-biodegradable and end up in large landfills or even in the oceans.
This mindful practice reduces the need to buy new items. If we all embrace this movement, we can significantly lessen our fashion footprint.
You can look stylish and save money by choosing not to buy new things!
